Microneedling
Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure, requiring very little down time. It can be used to improve the appearance of your skin in a variety of ways. It helps to reduce the appearance of scars, targets signs of ageing, as well as treating hair loss.
Microneedling treatments are effective for targetting;
Hyperpigmentation
Acne scars
Age spots
Fine lines & Wrinkles
Enlarged pores
Hair loss
Some surgical & traumatic scars
Stetch marks
Reduced skin elasticity
Uneven skin tone
Our microneedling treatment involves a pen device with tiny needles carefully used to prick the skin to pre-selected depths, creating controlled microscopic dermal injuries that stimulate collagen production, causing tightening and firming of the skin. The treatment can be used alongside skin boosting treatments to enable deep penetration of active agents, which rejuvenate the skin.
Technique
To maximize dermal collagen formation, your skin will be prepared before treatment. The treatment involves precisely rolling or stamping a medical-grade microneedling device over your skin to encourage healing. To reduce pain or discomfort, an anaesthetic can be used to numb the treatment area.
Procedure
The microneedling procedure generally lasts from 45 - 60 minutes depending on the skin area being treated.
Downtime
Minimal downtime is needed. However, few days after your treatment, your skin may appear crusted, dry, inflamed or swollen, which usually lasts for 2-3 days. You should take care to avoid sun exposure, and use SPF 50+ during the day.
Results
Results can typically be seen after 48 hours and peak six weeks after. We recommend a course of 6 treatments, with repeat treatments after a minimum of 2-4 weeks. As with facial aesthetic treatments, long-term treatments yields long-term results. To optimise results, sun protection and careful compliance with after care advice are required.
