DermZen Brightening facial helps to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation. It is important that you use appropriate skincare products at home with regular application of broadspectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen during the day and avoid direct sunlight exposure or use of tan beds to enhance your results. We will be happy to recommend appropriate medical skincare products for you. We recommend that you have this facial every 4 weeks to enhance your results.

Technique
Following your consultation, this facial begins with a thorough double cleansing of your skin. This will be followed with a microdermabrasion treatment using a diamond-tipped tool for precise elimination of dead skin cells. Depending on your skin type, the next step involves the application of an exfoliator or steam treatment to help dilate your pores. If appropriate the specialist will safely carry out blackhead extractions using professional tools and techniques. A soothing mask will be applied to your skin to calm and reduce inflammation, followed by application of a hydrating mask, which infuses your skin with moisture, to plump and brighten your complexion. A brightening skincare product will be applied to target dark spots and uneven skin tone*. This will be followed by a relaxing massage to reduce tension and promote lymphatic drainage. This facial concludes with application of a hydrating moisturiser and broadspectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen**.

The procedure generally lasts from 45 - 60 minutes
Downtime
There is no downtime, you should be able to return to your daily activities immediately after your treatment. There is minimal pain with a risk of redness, irritation, dry skin and soreness. These should resolve soon after your treatment. Avoid extreme hot temperatures (steam rooms, saunas) and intense UV or direct sun exposure for the first few days after your treatment. Use broadspectrum SPF 30+ regularly during the day.
Results
Typically, results can become apparent soon after your facial. We recommend consistent treatments every 4-6 weeks in combination with recommended at home skincare products, use of broadspectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen and avoidance of direct sun exposure to maintain your results.
