Technique
After an initial consultation, to assess your medical health and facial assessment, to determine which areas need treatment, as well as product recommendations, a topical anaesthetic cream is applied to the facial areas needing treatment to gently numb the skin. Depending on the areas treated and to achieve specific goals, different varieties and densities of dermal fillers are used. Application is done using a fine needle or cannula to gently distribute the filler into exactly the right places. Procedure
Depending on treatment areas and volume of filler to be used, the assessment and procedure takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Downtime
Discomfort and downtime is minimal. There may be minor redness, which subsides within hours, allowing you to return to normal activities soon after. However, you are advised to avoid intense physical acctivities and exercises, as well as make up and alcohol for 24 hours following treatment. Extreme heat or cold should be avoided for one week after treatment. We advise against smoking, which could impact on your skin’s ability to heal properly.
Results
The treatment effects are immediate. Depending on the products used and areas treated, the effects can last between 6 - 18 months*. Dermal fillers are made from naturally-occurring Hyaluronic Acid, which slowly dissolve over time, returning your skin to its previous state. There is a low risk of adverse reactions and side-effects are usually mild, for example: post-injection soreness, swelling or bruising.
